An Example of Jane's Nice Cursive Handwriting

Found this in Jane's backpack last week.

I would have died before handing this sentence in to a teacher when I was in 3rd grade.

I don't know if that says more about the difference between me and Jane or the difference between my generation and hers.

It might be a difference in teachers. Plus, they didn't make princess underpants back then.

We can't stop laughing.

Sneaking over from your sister's blog to say that I'm surprised they're teaching cursive at your daughter's school already in third grade. I know that a lot of schools are cutting it from their curriculum due to the prevalence of computers. My daughter is in third grade, and they haven't started on cursive yet. I'm not sure when/if they will.

I don't think your daughter has as much to be embarrassed about as poor fictional Neil. That's why you never let your fictional kids out the door with anything other than gender-appropriate clean underwear.

i absolutely adore reading children's writing, especially when it is younger children. they have no filter and will write outrageously funny things.

Poor Neil!

Lucky Neil, I say!

Would you deprive young Neil of such glamorous undergarments? I certainly wouldn't.

I think that's so cute! In the UK many of our schools are teaching cursive writing right from the start, when children are 4 or 5 years old, and not bothering with print at all. I'm sure most kids would love writing about underpants no matter what style.
