Yes, I Took a Picture of This For You. You're Welcome.

As you may know, I hate to see things go to waste. You know how sometimes the little tab gets ripped off an otherwise perfectly good diaper? I hate that. But when it happened today, a thought popped into my head:

I mended a disposable diaper. Laugh if you must. But let's do some calculations. I saved $ .25 (the cost of the diaper) in 30 seconds of my time. If I could save $ .25 for every 30-second increment of a 12-hour day, that would add up to $360. And over the course of one year?: $131,400. Who's laughing now?

You, still, hopefully.

This is the way I like my math. Simple, ridiculous, and on a calculator.

Now THAT is my kind of math. Brilliant.

That's awesome. We've made this repair with duct tape before, but duct tape is kind of expensive. And less aesthetically pleasing.

I definitely count all my mending against all the fabric I have stashed to make myself feel better about my habit.

P.S. You have to remember NOT to count your time to take the photo and upload it . . . unless, of course, you start "social networking" to build traffic to your site and then put ads on.

haha, to this--and the comments, too.

OK, it so totally agree, except I would have used hot glue. Which would have totally messed up the calculations because it takes a good ten minutes for it to heat up...but, I'd still do it.
Might I also add that the picture of Jane with the chips made my day. Also, I happen to believe that one of the purposes for little Ellen's existance on this earth is to entertain us. She's doing a wonderful job.

Love this. I get so mad when the tab comes off. We are almost out of diapers. Julia has gone 2 days without one. Hooray! Now that is a money saver.

I am going to have another baby just to implement this idea! Genius.

I'm laughing. And I relate.
