You Have to Admire the Wholeheartedness of a Three Year Old

Sometimes when Adam says "No," he likes to follow it up, for emphasis, with "Never," spoken in a drawn out, dramatic whisper. This can be especially comical when he changes his mind, as happened this morning.

Me: Would you like milk on your oatmeal?
Adam: No! Never! . . . I mean, um, yeah, I do want milk on my oatmeal.

My Julia (almost 3) does this with every question. I always plan on asking her the same question twice. She will usually say yeas the second time. So funny.

I'd say it's a pretty sound habit to reflexively say no the first time to any request.

Superlatives and hyperbole definitely run in the family. We were reminded of this this past week, as mom and John spent time conversing. ;)
